Drumpelier Country Park
Drumpelier Country Park is situated 10 miles east of Glasgow, near the town of Coatbridge. It's a lovely spot, which on the day we visited appeared very popular with runners, dog walkers and families like ours, out to get some fresh air on a slightly cooler day then of late.
The park features two natural lochs and has a visitor centre, with all the necessary facilities, a decent amount of parking, including ample disabled parking spaces.
There are waymarked walking trails, a couple of good children's playgrounds, and one rather tired looking one!
We only visited one of the lochs, Lochend Loch, which has a nice paved 1 mile circular walk around the water, as well as many walks branching off from the main path. We were visiting with quite a large Special Needs pushchair and had no difficulty navigating the paths - although to be fair, we have had a fair bit of dry weather lately, so couldn't vouch for what the woodland walks would be like after rain.
Within the park, the other loch, Woodend Loch offers the opportunity to get on the water, with seasonal fun boat hire.
Bad parenting alert!
Little one loves a zip wire, this is the first time this has happened, he has been back onboard since, with no problems!
