Glen Coe - drive through
I hadn't intended to add Glen Coe at this stage, but we drove through on our way from the Queen Elizabeth Country Park, on our way to our next destination!
We had been out for a meal when we were staying at our first stop over in Shotts and the manager of the Beefeater we ate out in said "you must visit Glen Coe, it's jaw-dropping". I said we intended to go on our way back from Skye - meaning we were going to go to the visitor centre, learn something about the history of the massacre, without fully understanding what I was talking about.
It was only when we drove down the route through Glen Coe that I realised what our friend at the Beefeater was talking about, it is simply stunning. The pictures here don't really do it justice, as they were taken out of the window of a moving car - not by me I hasten to add - but hopefully they give a feel of what the area is like. The mountains and hills dwarf the landscape as you drive through between them on the snaking road. A drive like this gives you a feeling of how small and insignificant humans are and that lands like these will be here long after we are dust!
There were so many WOW moments on the drive, I kept shaking my head and saying "did you see that", as if I was the only one in the car with eyes. It really is a magical place and yes, it is jaw-dropping!
