Portree

We hadn't actually intended to "do" Portree, but on the very last day of our Scotland adventure proper, the weather had broken. We didn't really fancy getting soaking wet, even with our wet weather gear, knowing it would all have to be packed that evening.

THAT picture of Portree...

Anyway, we ventured out for one last trip, this time into town, rather than walking round the countryside. It was the first time in over a week that Little One had used his buggy. He had done an amazing amount of countryside walking, but he is still not really a street walker. We do use a wrist strap, when on familiar territory, but felt it best to resort to the old faithful around an unfamiliar town.

There are some lovely quirky shops in Portree - but my word, THE PRICES. I know businesses have to make the most of their opportunities, but the prices of some items were verging on the ridiculous, and not just the whisky on this occasion. Everything from hippy chic trousers and jackets, to wall decorative banners, to smelly candles, to anything with Skye on it, all at inflated prices! Bloody tourists...

Oh well, starting our journey heading for home in the morning. So just one more evening of the ridiculously light night time, then on our way!
